Site legal information
This page explains how Sudoku Multiplayer processes the personal data of users, visitors, and players, with particular attention to registration, player profiles, gameplay activity, and the platform's social features.
1. Data controller
Before publishing this policy in production, replace the placeholders with the real identifying details required by privacy law.
2. What data we process
Sudoku Multiplayer may process identification and contact data such as email address, visible name, username, avatar, login credentials, or identifiers associated with external authentication providers.
It may also process service usage and activity data, such as games started or completed, times, mistakes, progress, language preferences, play history, visible ELO, competitive interactions, social relationships inside the platform, user challenges, and privacy settings.
When the service is used as a guest, technical identifiers may also be processed when necessary to preserve game continuity and, if the user later creates an account, to link that activity to their profile.
3. Purposes and legal bases
We process your data to create and manage your account, authenticate you, allow access to private areas, maintain your player profile, store your history, manage Solo Sudoku and Versus Sudoku games, show your progress, and provide friends, challenges, sharing, and privacy-setting features.
The main legal basis will be performance of the contract or pre-contractual measures when you use the platform as a registered user, the legitimate interest of the owner in ensuring security, preventing abuse, preserving technical continuity, and protecting the service, and consent when it is required, especially for non-essential cookies or communications that need it.
Where the law requires retaining certain information for tax, commercial, security, or lawful authority requests, the legal basis will be compliance with legal obligations.
4. Source, retention, and recipients
Data is normally collected directly from the user, from direct use of the platform, and, where applicable, from third-party authentication providers chosen by the user, such as Google, GitHub, or X.
Data will be kept for as long as necessary to provide the service, maintain the account, comply with legal obligations, resolve incidents, prevent fraud, or defend legal claims. When it is no longer necessary, it will be deleted or blocked for the periods required by law.
Data may be processed by technology providers acting as processors, such as hosting, database, authentication, transactional email, analytics, or monitoring providers, always under the corresponding data processing agreement. This policy must be completed with the real list or actual categories of providers used in production.
If any of those providers involve international transfers of personal data outside the European Economic Area, those transfers must rely on an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses, or another valid GDPR mechanism. The owner must specify here whether those transfers actually exist.
5. Data subject rights
You may exercise the following rights by sending a request to the privacy email address shown in this policy and proving your identity when necessary:
The supervisory authority in Spain is the Spanish Data Protection Agency, available at www.aepd.es.
6. Security, minors, and updates
The owner will adopt appropriate technical and organizational measures to reduce the risks of unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or improper processing of personal data. Even so, no internet-connected system can guarantee absolute security.
The platform should not be used by minors where the law requires parental authorization or where the owner has not implemented specific mechanisms for that use. If you detect use by a minor contrary to the service conditions, you should contact the owner.
This policy may be updated when the law, the business model, or the service's technical infrastructure changes. If the changes are relevant, they will be communicated through reasonable means within the platform.
